Our Story
One summer night in July, a large group of friends headed to a dance bar in San Jose. Among them were two people who had never met, connected only by a few mutual friends. While on a packed dance floor, Juan Pablo ended up right next to Trinique, and he asked her to dance. She politely declined and, with a smile, suggested he dance with her friend instead.
For most people, that would have been the end of the conversation, but for them it was only the beginning. Over the music and the crowd, their conversation kept unfolding. Trinique was intrigued by his quiet confidence, and beneath it she sensed a depth that left her wanting to know more. Juan Pablo, for his part, simply thought she was cute.
They exchanged numbers that night. Many dates followed, and each one meant traveling a long way to see each other. Somewhere along all those miles, curiosity turned into love. The miles that once kept them apart became the path that brought them home to each other. She may have said no to that first dance, but when he asked her to be his partner for a lifetime, she said yes with her whole heart to a dance that will never end.

Attire
Gentlemen: tuxedos.
Ladies: bright and colorful long gowns.
La Ceja sits high in the Andes and evenings can be cool, so bring a shawl.
Two Cultures, One Celebration
Our wedding brings together where we each come from: Juan Pablo’s Colombia and Trinique’s Vietnam. Expect traditions, music and, above all, food from both sides of the family, shared at one table.
Discover the Region
La Ceja sits in the green Andean highlands of Antioquia, the land of paisas, flower farms and some of the world’s best coffee. If you can, stay a few extra days and explore. Here are a few ideas.
Medellín
Spring-like weather all year, cable cars gliding over the hillsides, Fernando Botero’s sculptures in Plaza Botero and the colorful murals of Comuna 13. Medellín is about an hour from La Ceja.
El Peñol de Guatapé
Climb the 700-plus steps of El Peñol for sweeping views over a maze of green islands and blue water, then take a boat ride on the reservoir.
Coffee farms
Antioquia is coffee country. Visit a family finca to see how coffee is grown, picked and roasted, and taste it right where it’s made.
Pueblos of Antioquia
Wander colorful towns like Guatapé, browse the hand-painted ceramics of El Carmen de Viboral, and share a bandeja paisa or a fresh arepa. Paisas are famous for their warm welcome.
Registry
Having you with us is all we ask. Should you wish to give, we’d love a contribution to our honeymoon so we can see the Northern Lights (and buy enough hot chocolate to stay awake for them)!
